As I searched for information of Paris, I found this website is not commercial. I did not see any advertisement on hotel or tours which I dislike. I like this kind of pure website, no advertisements and no fake lucky winning messages, allowing me to look through the pictures without distraction. However, one disadvantage of Travel Channel is that, no “Download” icon is offered for me to download the images. If I want these images, I can only do a screen shot and cut out the images. But “Print” icon is there for me to print out the full gallery or just the current page.
In conclusion, Travel Channel excited me. My overall impression of this website is not bad. The most useful criteria, which helps me to figure out what Paris is about, is the images and the explanations. In another words, I think coverage of this website helped me a lot. The reason is that if a website which is related to travelling does not cover many information, we will not research for our dream holiday destinations in that website. Travel Channel can us provide a lot of information about world wide destinations, for examples, high defination images,videos and explanatory notes. Now I really want to go to Paris after searching for information via Travel Channel!! :)

Second Life
Second Life can provide me a virtual environment which imitates the real world as I have mentioned in my previous blog. As we studied EIR, we are introduced to this Second Life and we all enjoyed it when we communicated with HK Polytechnic students in the plate provided by Second Life. I went to Paris in Second Life with my team members. Below are the screen shots.
We chose Paris as our destination because we all wanted to go there and we do not have time to travel there physically at this time. Second Life is the virtual world, so why don’t we go there with the help of Second Life? Additionally, Paris itself is a beautiful and attractive place.
Comparisons
After using both Multimedia Web and Second Life experiencing my dream holiday, Paris, I find both these two are good. I cannot come out with a final idea which one I prefer. It is very hard to tell which one is better.
Let me talk about Multimedia Web first. As I wrote previously, the images provided are high definition and vivid. These pictures make me fall into my own imagination. Beside the images, explanations are available for me to read more about the images. I am also pleased with the presentation of Travel Channel since no advertisements are floating everywhere.
Then it is Second Life’s turn. It is more like a communication tool. The special point is that we can change the world wide background places. The colors shown are not that bright compared to multimedia web. The unique thing about Second Life is that Second Life allows me to walk and visit the place in the virtual world, which multimedia web cannot.
Hence, both multimedia web and Second Life are excellent in helping me experience my dream holiday destination. I can have a feast of vision while using multimedia web. On the other hand, I can visit the place or experience my destination by using Second Life.
