----> 8) Metaphor

If I need to choose a song to represent the journey of Effective Internet Research, I would choose Adele’s “Rolling in the Deep”. But now I am talking about the melody of this song, not the lyrics.
If you have ever listened to this song, you will know the song starts with very short intrada and Adele starts to sing at a relative high pitch. The short intrada is like my preparation for EIR. I did not know what I was going to learn for this subject. I wanted some preparation but had no idea how to do it. But soon, EIR class began.
We need to create accounts for wiki, twitter, blog and Facebook. After this we started to post our blogs. The thing is that, EIR’s assignments are not handed in immediately. The deadline is always the last week, so I did not do my assignments as scheduled. When the last week came, I had trouble, like this song’s melody when the tempo starts to speed up. I had to rush and finish all the assignments.
As the song goes, refrains come. The melody of the refrains is lively enough to express our emotion, meaning that after term break, I started to love this subject. As I did my assignment according to the teaching plan, I found this subject interesting and useful. Now I am kind of sad at the close of EIR. I wanted to come back to the period of using Second Life and discussing on twitter in class. The reason why I think EIR is useful is that I have learnt a lot while doing my research topic. I can use search engines, meta-search engines and invisible web to search for information. Before I studied EIR, I only knew search engines and I always used them to search for everything. When the results were not reliable or the relevance was not high, I had no way to solve the problems.
Now we come to the last part of the song, the tempo slows down, representing that EIR is close after next week but we have spent a nice time with Ms. Faradah and the skills I have learnt will be applied to my future study.

Anyway, I benefitted a lot from EIR and I enjoyed it. Ms. Faridah is a good teacher. Even though we did not have much conversation, I can feel she worked hard and was patient with the students This EIR journey is unforgettable because of Ms. Faridah’s guidance
